I have a new hobby which I have started and it is skateboarding. I have been doing skateboarding for about three months. My cousin is also interested in skateboarding as well so we practice our skills together. The very first skateboards came out in the early 1960′s. Skateboards look like snow boards but with wheels and are much smaller.
There are different sizes and lengths of skateboards. For example the Penny skateboards are much thinner and shorter than the original skate boards. I own a Globe skateboard which comes in a variety of different neon colours. My Globe skateboard which I own is neon blue. It is great to be able to choose your very own coloured skateboard.
It is also important you wear protective gear when riding your skateboard. To be a good skateboard rider you need strong legs and balance. Just push off with one of your feet and place in back on the skateboard and your riding your skateboard in style.

You did a great post! I wish I could skateboard. I am not allowed because my mom and her sister skateboarded when they were little and broke a bunch of bones. I watch a TV show called Zeke and Luther. It is about two people who are very good skateboarders. It is on Disney channel. If it is on in Australia, you should watch it.

Skateboarding sounds like a great hobby. It’s fun to have a hobby that you enjoy doing with a friend and I bet it is a good way to keep fit too.
I have never really tried skateboarding but I admire people who can do it well.

You would really fit in quite well here in America! Skateboarding is such a popular activity for kids and adults. We even have skateboarding parks with ramps and things.
I don’t skateboard at all. I tried once and decided that I prefer other sports without wheels! I like skiing and when I was your age, I ice-skated all the time.

I have heard that skateboarding is very popular in America. I have not gone down to the skate park yet to go down a ramp but I do not think I would like to go down a ramp as I am still a learner.
I have not tried skiing but I think I would enjoy skiing. Hopefully maybe this year I may go to the snow fields and will I have to give skiing a go.
I have not been Ice Skating but I have been to a rollerblading center which was awesome. I managed to stay up right the whole time I roller blade.

That is sad your brother hurt himself while skateboarding and I know I should wear protective gear in case I do hurt myself.
Buck is a very cute Labrador. When they are puppies they can be very playful and very cheeky.
I remember Hack when he was a puppy he would love to pull mum’s clothes off the clothes line.
My wheels are made out of Polyunethane which is a flexible martial used for wheels on skate boards. Mum also told me that when she had a skate board her skate board wheels were steel ball bearings wheels made out of steel.
I don’t know any tricks as I only know how to pretend to surf on my skate board.

I think it is great that you started a new hobby. I have always thought that I have good balance until I tried to stand on a skateboard. It is really hard. Do you enjoy other hobbies with wheels such as biking and rollerskating?
I have actually started a new activity this year. I don’t want to call it a hobby because I do it more for exercise rather than pleasure. I started to swim laps a couple of times a week while Miriam and her siblings are practicing with the swim team. The coach of the team is nice enough to give me a workout schedule to keep me focused.
Have you learned any interesting tricks to do on your skateboard? Do you have skateboard parks near you?

Skateboarding can be very difficult when don’t have a sense of balance, but you know what they say “practice makes perfect”.
I love to roller skate and ride my bike too. I can not do any tricks on my bike but my dad can.

I just love to swim it is so much fun. Swimming also relaxes me. When I swim I feel like I can let out all those bad thoughts I have.

Thank you for your lengthy response!
I know how to ride a bike, but I don’t go riding very often. I find the seat to be uncomfortable. Perhaps I should get a better seat with more padding, and then I would like biking more. I prefer to rollerblade. Usually, Miriam and Sarah go biking and I rollerblade next to them. I have learned to go fast enough to keep up with them. However, I can’t do any special tricks. I have always wanted to learn to skate backwards, but have not figured it out yet.
I like to swim, but not really doing laps in the pool. It can get a bit boring. When I let my mind wander, I tend to lose count on how many laps I have done which makes it difficult to stick to my workout schedule. I really like to swim in a warm ocean. We have vacationed in Hawaii where the water is really warm. Do you live near the coast? Do you ever go swimming in the ocean? Is the water cold?

When you first try to ride a bike the seat does get a bit uncomfortable but then you get used to the seat.
Rollerblading is so much fun but not when you hurt yourself it is not so much fun. I have hurt myself while rollerblading but, I never gave up I just kept on rollerblading but now I enjoy riding my skateboard.
Swimming is so much fun because you can let loose and relax.
We sure do live near the coast as well. It is called the Surf Coast hopefully you and your family will be able to visit one day.
I sure do go swimming in the ocean with my dad and my cousins I even go scuba diving with my dad. He loves to scuba dive.
The water is cold when you first got in but you soon warm up and it always helps if you wear a wet suit as that keeps you warm.
I have never been to Hawaii but I sure would love to one day.

My skateboard ( used to be ) white w/ a black design. But the paper on wore off, on the bottom. So I drew random stuff on the bottom w/ sidewalk chalk. The wheels are the same white with the black designs. My brother was the one who really was into wanting to get a skateboard. So we both got them. I was the one who rode, rode and rode on it. I learned to ride it really good. I still LOVE to ride it.

The picture of the skateboards is off a website called FlickCC. I am not sure why the person took the wheels off the Skateboards.
Basketball sounds like fun. Basketball is an American sport. In Australia we have a sport called Netball and it is exactly like Basketball.
In Netball there are defenders trying to block the other team from getting a goal.
Your hobbies sound like fun.
